Coaching Skills Training

Coaching Skills Training

Outline of Coaching Skills Training

The training session will teach individuals coaching skills and how to have a coach approach, therefore supporting people to personally develop and learn.

Following the Training Learners

~ Will understand what makes a good coach
~ Why coaches shouldn’t see themselves as an expert able to fix all problems
~ How a coach should see themselves as someone who supports the process of learning

A coaching model will be introduced for all learners, providing a framework that develops your coaching approach.

You will gain practical skills that will benefit both yourself and the people you are coaching – and will leave with a clear action plan on how to utilise learning within your organisation.

How The Course Works

  • Coaches will learn to take an “Ask VS Tell” approach.  By asking powerful questions instead of telling a person what to do, a learner is able to create their own solutions.
  • Coaches will understand that it’s not about “fixing” anyone – but about facilitating a person’s learning process
  • An understanding will be gained on how clear accountability structures can be set up for action and outcomes
  • Through this session you will learn:

    • What is coaching?  Why is it important?
    • What competencies are needed to be a coach?
    • Core skills of questioning & listening
    • How to connect coaching to your organisational values
